Immersive Art Gallery at The Algarve Congress Centre

The OCUBO atelier makes its premiere in the Algarve with the first gallery of immersive artistic experiences, inviting the public for a “sensory plunge” into the creative universe of four geniuses: Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Claude Monet and Gustav Klimt.

The Algarve Congress Centre thus becomes the stage for the Immersivus Gallery, a multisensory experience that unites technology and art through a combination of highly complex technical projections of 360º, in a truly innovative event.

The initiative, signed by the OCUBO atelier, recognized for the creation of large-scale multimedia and video mapping projects, opens on June 4, starting at 20:00, with the exhibitions Il Divino Michelangelo & Il Genio Da Vinci and Impressive Monet & Brilliant Klimt.

The journey provided by Il Divino Michelangelo & Il Genio Da Vinci begins with the legacy of Michelangelo (Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, 1475-1564), also known as “The Divine”. The artist’s work is covered since the beginning of the creative activity, passing through the influences that marked him in various artistic aspects: painting, sculpture and architecture. In this digital palette, various of his iconic works are exhibited, such as the fresco hand of The Creation of Adam (1511) or the sculptures of David (1501), Bacchus (1596) and Pietà (1498). There are also references to the set of paintings that appear on the Ceiling of the Sistine Chapel (1508-1512), where it is possible to observe The Flood and The Final Judgment.

The exhibition, with a circular nature, continues with the origin of the avant-garde ideas of the other genius of the exhibition binomial, Leonardo Da Vinci (Leonardo di Ser Piero da Vinci, 1452-1519). The mind of the restless visionary artist is contemplated through a visual spectacle using his writings, research, inventions and studies – including Codex Leicester and Codex Atlanticus -, up to his main works, with emphasis on Vitruvian Man ( 1490), The Last Supper (1495-98) and the renowned Mona Lisa (1503 -06).

Starting with some of the most recognized works by the French Claude Monet and the Austrian Gustav Klimt, Impressive Monet & Brilliant Klimt introduces the universe of two masters in the history of world painting in a playful and pedagogical way. In the case of Impressive Monet, the spectator accesses a vast set of representative images of the author of recognized Impressionist character. In addition to providing the most iconic paintings, it suggests and reveals what lies beyond those works, the landscapes, the events and everything that the frame does not allow to glimpse, a hidden side that is revealed.

On the other hand, in Brilliant Klimt, the theme about the Austrian artist enshrines a vision in which “the instruction manual” for viewing the show is made from The Kiss, a central piece in the Viennese painter’s artistic legacy. It is from this essential framework that the perspective expands, as a guiding thread, for the presentation of the overall work of the symbolist creator.

The Immersivus Gallery will be presented at the Algarve Congress Centre between June 4th and September 30th2021.

Il Divino Michelangelo & Il Genio Da Vinci have three daily sessions, from Tuesday to Sunday, at 20:00, 21:30 and 23:00. On the same days, alternating hourly, the Impressive Monet & Brilliant Klimt exhibition can be seen at 20:45 and 22:15.
